Mr Townley is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital in London. He specialises in Facial Reanimation, Head and Neck Reconstruction, and Aesthetic Surgery.
After graduating from both Cambridge and Oxford Universities, he completed his basic surgical training in London. He then undertook a two-year research degree at the RAFT Institute (University College London) leading to the award of MD.
Mr Townley also completed specialist training in Plastic and Aesthetic surgery in London and Oxford, passing the Plastic Surgery Specialist exams (FRCS). He spent a year of further subspecialist training (Breast, Head and Neck) in Toronto, Canada, followed by 6 months working as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in British Columbia, which provided excellent experience in both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.
Throughout his career, he has been keenly interested in clinical research and improving treatment outcomes. He has published nearly 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals and is an author of several book chapters. During his time in Oxford, he was appointed an Honorary Fellow in Medicine at Brasenose College.
Mr Townley is on the Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery and is also a member of the British Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (BAPRAS). He undertakes a wide range of cosmetic procedures including all breast procedures, abdominoplasty, liposuction and facial surgery.
