Professional Profile

Simon is a Consultant Hip and Knee Surgeon at the world renowned Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford and a founding member of Grosvenor Orthopaedic
Partners LLP. He is a member of the Hip Research Unit at the University of Oxford. Simon read medicine at the University of Southampton before higher surgical training in orthopaedics on the Northwest London rotation. He is double fellowship trained having completed a fellowship in hip surgery in Bournemouth and a fellowship in lower limb joint reconstruction and hip preservation in Oxford.

Simon has a strong academic background having completed a PhD at Imperial College London with a thesis on partial knee replacement surgery. He remains engaged in research, though his focus has changed predominantly to matters affecting the hip joint. He is co-lead of the Oxford Hip and Knee Fellowship programme, providing advanced training to orthopaedic surgeons from the UK and abroad before they take up Consultant positions. Simon provides a complete hip surgery service from dysplasia to sports injuries to arthritis and is one of the highest volume hip surgeons working in London.

He continues to offer knee replacement surgery, including the market-leading Oxford Partial Knee. Simon is dedicated to offering a personal, caring and friendly service in addition to providing evidence-based effective treatments for hip and knee problems.
