Professional Profile

Miss Ivilina Pandeva is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist Urogynaecologist. Ivilina has a special interest in Urogynaecology and the management of urogynaecological pelvic floor conditions, having undertaken three years of RCOG accredited subspecialist training in Urogynaecology and Laparoscopic pelvic reconstructive surgery at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, UK.

She provides care to women with general gynaecological and complex urogynaecological conditions, including primary and recurrent pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, perineal problems and pelvic floor dysfunction.

Ivilina also cares for pregnant women in the peripartum period, women who have sustained obstetric sphincter injury and have pelvic floor dysfunction. Prior to commencing subspecialty training, Ivilina completed a research fellowship in Advanced Obstetrics and Gynaecological Ultrasound at King’s College Hospital, London. She entered the RCOG specialty training programme and commenced her training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the East of England Deanery, UK.

Following the completion of her core training in O&G, Ivilina commenced sub-specialist training in Urogynaecology and Laparoscopic Pelvic floor reconstructive surgery at Cambridge. During her subspecialisation, she was awarded a BSGE Traveling Fellowship to undertake an attachment at the Urogynaecology Unit at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, which led to establishing an invaluable clinical and research collaboration, in the field of Urogynaecology, between the two units.

Ivilina is active in research for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction. She is involved in surgical training of junior doctors and is an advocate of high quality training and education. She is a member of the British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG) Training Subcommittee and participate in the International Continence Society (ISC) Mentorship scheme.

Ivilina believes in holistic, patient – centred approach to care in partnership with women, taking into account all aspects to management of their condition including prevention, patient education, conservative and surgical approaches.
