20 years of General Practice, both in the NHS and now privately, hasn’t dulled my passion for practising good medicine and looking after my patients and their families. Over the last 10 years in Harley Street, my colleagues and I have built a fantastic team that is responsive to the needs of our patients.
I strongly believe that a good GP gets to know and understand the problems and pressures of modern day life on patients and is always there when needed, to help and guide them, either in person or these days online.
General Practice is more than just dealing with a single problem. It is about understanding the complex interactions between the medical issues of patients and how they interact with their families, lives and work.
I have always strived to take a holistic view of my patients needs and to secure for them the best care that is available, often helping them to efficiently navigate the multiple pathways to achieve successful medical treatment.
I also regularly network with many other doctors as Honorary Secretary of Chelsea Clinical Society and past GP chair of the Independent Doctors Federation, as well as having a husband and son who are both in the medical profession. I continue to support my GP colleagues in my role as an NHS and private GP Appraiser.
In my spare time I am training with my son and daughter for an Ironman competition, as well as restoring a derelict house in Wimbledon with my husband, two labradors and three cats.
I firmly believe that high quality general practice is the bedrock of good medicine in the UK, as the first step in your pathway is often the most important.
